Privacy policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy explains what data the game Rival Zoo (for iOS and Android) collects, why, who it is shared with and how you can exercise your rights, in accordance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018) and other applicable laws.
Rival Zoo is developed by Cuca Pensante (VE Digital Hub), the controller of the data described here. Contact: contato@cucapensante.com.br.
1. Data that stays on your device
Your progress (completed levels, Paws, collection, purchased styles), your preferences (sound, theme, reminder) and the nicknames you give the animals are stored on your device. Daily challenge reminders are notifications scheduled on the device itself: no server sends you messages.
2. Data sent to the cloud
| What | Why | Service |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous player identifier, created automatically the first time you open the game. | Keep a backup of your progress and your leaderboard results. | Firebase Authentication (Google) |
| Email and Apple or Google account identifier, only if you choose "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google". With Apple, you can hide your email. | Move your progress to another device. | Firebase Authentication (Google), Apple, Google |
| Progress backup: levels, Paws, collection, daily challenge results, nicknames and favorite animal. | Restore your progress when you reinstall the game or change devices. | Cloud Firestore (Google), on servers in São Paulo, Brazil |
| Daily challenge result: time, mistakes, hints, favorite animal and an automatically generated name (e.g. "Capybara 4821"). | Build the daily leaderboard, visible to other players. The name does not identify you: typed text is never accepted. | Cloud Firestore (Google) |
| Usage data: screens opened, levels played, device model, OS version, language, approximate country and an installation identifier. | Understand how the game is used and improve levels and difficulty. | Google Analytics for Firebase |
| Crash reports: what the app was doing when it closed unexpectedly, device model and OS version. | Find and fix crashes. | Firebase Crashlytics (Google) |
| Advertising data: the device's advertising identifier (on iPhone, only if you allow it), IP address, device information and interactions with ads. | Show ads, measure results and prevent fraud. | Google AdMob |
| App events for campaigns: game install and launch, tutorial and level completion, purchases (product and amount, never payment details), advertising identifier (on iPhone, only if you allow it), device model, OS version and IP address. | Find out whether an install came from one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram, and show those ads to people more likely to enjoy the game. | Meta (Facebook SDK) |
We do not sell your data. Google services process data under the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy terms; Meta, under the Meta Privacy Policy. Some of this processing may take place outside Brazil, with the safeguards required by law.
3. Ads
- The game is free and shows ads: optional videos to earn a hint or an extra heart, and an occasional ad between levels (from level 12 on, at most one every three levels). Never during a game or in the daily challenge.
- Ads are limited to content suitable for all audiences.
- On iPhone, the system asks whether the app may use the advertising identifier. If you don't allow it, ads still appear, but without personalization based on that identifier. You can change this in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- On Android, you can limit or reset the advertising identifier in your device settings (Google → Ads).
- We use the Meta SDK to measure our promotional campaigns. On iPhone, if you don't allow tracking, Meta does not receive the advertising identifier and measures campaigns only in aggregate. You can also manage how your data is used for ads in Meta's ad preferences.
- In the European Union and the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before using data for personalized ads, and you can review your choice in the game's Settings → Ad privacy.
4. Purchases
The game offers optional purchases, such as the Jungle Pass (removes ads and unlocks perks). They are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play): we never have access to your card details. We only receive the purchase confirmation (product, date and amount), used to unlock what you bought, restore purchases on another device and measure the results of our campaigns.
5. Children
Rival Zoo is a game for the whole family. We do not ask for personal data to play, leaderboard names are generated automatically and there is no chat or messaging between players. Ads are limited to content suitable for all audiences. If you are responsible for a child and believe they have given us personal data (for example, by signing in with an account), write to contato@cucapensante.com.br and we will delete it.
6. How long we keep data
- Progress backup and account: while you use the game, or until you delete your account.
- Leaderboard results: while that day's leaderboard exists; they can be deleted on request.
- Usage, crash, advertising and campaign data: for the retention periods of the Google and Meta services.
7. Your rights and data deletion
You may request confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, portability and deletion of it, withdraw consent and obtain information about sharing.
- Delete your account in the game: Menu → Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes the account and the progress backup in the cloud.
- Sign out: Menu → Settings → Account → Sign out.
- Turn off reminders: Menu → Settings → Reminder.
- Any other request (including deleting leaderboard results, usage data or events sent to Meta): contato@cucapensante.com.br. We reply within 15 days.
You may also file a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) or the data protection authority in your country.
8. Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). In the database, access rules ensure that each player can only read and change their own progress backup, and that no one can change another player's leaderboard result.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with the updated date. Important changes will also be announced in the game.
